Title: Flash Point Estimation
Post by: cqcry on February 25, 2009, 06:20:29 PM
Dear all,

Thanks for reading this message. I am doing some advanced process control (APC) on an atmospheric unit, where light gas oil (side-draw) is one of the products. As t there is no on-line product analyzer, we try to build an LGO flash point estimator for product quality indication and control.

I am looking for your expertise to help develop a "simple" but satisfactory flash point estimator (mathematical model). This application is in real industry so we prefer simpler approach. In other words, we hope to identify key factors that affect the flash point of the LGO. In addition, there is a LGO stripper after the side draw from the Atmospheric column, with stripping steam available.

Thanks all your comments and help.

Hi cqcry,

Determine the flash point of the individual components and average them.

This is very simplified and accuracy is poor, but it is a start.

Sincerely,

Eugene
