Title: Which math course should I take for introductory statistical thermodynamics?
Post by: baboom on December 23, 2009, 04:22:59 AM
Would statistical thermodynamics be easier for me to understand if I took linear algebra or if I took statistics? There is alot of calculus and partial derivative equations involved  :o. I already took calculus a few years ago, but  I feel that I am still not ready for this course.

linear algebra is useful for quantum, I don't remember ever seeing it in undergrad stat. mech.
