We are doing a chem unit on medicine and drugs and I have a project on antivirals and in doing research all I have found out was the generals of how they work. I know that they inhibit the growth. reproduction and infection of the virus in host cells but I haven't been able to find anything about the chemical specifics behind the reactions and pathways. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advanced.

I would suggest that you investigate the AIDS drugs, which are all anti-virals.

As a follow-up, I know that one class of AIDS drugs is the RTI---reverse transcriptase inhibitor.
Try a google of RTI--that should give you an "in".
