I am wondering why the R and S are omitted from this name and why just having trans is acceptable for this compound.
My thought is, if the OH was a wedge and the other was a dash, would the compound have the same name, even though it isn't the same molecule??
The name given is trans-3-isopropylcyclopentanol
I wonder why not (1R,3R)-3-isopropylcyclopentanol or trans-(1R,3R)-3-isoproylcyclopentanol
