Hi all,
I have been doing a suzuki type aryl-aryl coupling polymerization of a dibromo monomer and a diboronic ester. Since Sizuki reaction requires a base, I used 2M aquesous potassium carbonate as a base with DMF as solvent. The catalyst I used is Pd(OAc)2 . When everything was added and the reaction seems to start right away. I can see color changes immediately, but it seems the solubility is not good in this system. I was wondering if the polymer cannot grow in aqueous media? Shall I use an organic base like NEt3 as a baes in Suzuki reaction? ???
Thanks!
