Title: Biological treatment of industrial effluent
Post by: curiouscat on April 29, 2015, 02:32:22 AM
Commonly aerobic "activated sludge" tanks are used to reduce organic contamination from industrial wastewaters. Typically quantified by COD, Chemical Oxygen Demand.

What's a typical maximum COD that these organisms can tolerate? Could they for example consume a 30,000 COD feed?

Nothing in the feed is acutely toxic to microorganisms.
