Title: 18 electron rule

Taking:
Ru(en)2(SCN)
Fe(en)2(SCN)

Am I correct in thinking the metals, Ru and Fe in the compounds are in zero oxidation state and there are only 16 electrons and not 18 for
the 18 electron rule?
Or do the nitrogen atoms (within (en)2 provide 2 bonding centres which would give the 18 electrons?

No, each SCN group has charge -1
