Title: resonance structures of ketamine
Post by: Thomasvh96 on November 21, 2016, 09:22:30 AM
Hello,

I need to draw all the different resonance structures of ketamine but I don't know how to begin...
I know that I can shift the double bonds in the first ring and also can shift a free electron pair of Cl to the C-atom.
Can someone help me?

Kind regards, Thomas

Begin from chlorobenzene.

Okay, these are my resonance structures so far. Are there more? Like is it possible in 4 to move that free electron pair of C to form a double bond between the 2 rings?

Kind regards,
Thomas

Draw the same on the chlorophenyl group of ketamine. That's all.
