Title: Flame spectroscopy, on a budget, and mobile
Post by: spectra04 on May 28, 2019, 12:18:19 PM
Hi, I have a spectrometer and software for analyzing gas tubes and light spectra.  I would like to include flame spectroscopy.  I am teaching a camp this summer where i need my materials to be mobile.  What is the smallest set up i can buy and what kind of materials will i absolutely need?  Can i just use camping stove gas like butane or propane?  Can i just place the salt powder over the flame and point the spectrometer at the flame?
