What is the difference between:
2PbCO3·Pb(OH)2
and
2CO3.2Pb.H2O2Pb
Is this a different way to describe the identical molecular formula?
Thanks in advance

The latter has the same overall molecular formula, but is a much less meaningful and useful way of writing it. The compound doesn't contain "CO3", or metallic lead, or H2O2.
Did you see it written like that somewhere?

There are three ways to record the formula of your basic lead carbonate: the empirical formula used in chemical catalogs (purely alphabetically for inorganic compounds) C2H2O8Pb3, the semi-structural formula 2PbCO3·Pb(OH)2 and the oxide formula 3PbO·2CO2·H2O.

Thank you for your response. Yes I am seeing many many manufacturers in China describing this Basic Lead (II) Carbonate by using the second formula in the original post. There are several different kinds of Basic Lead Carbonate with different CAS designations. But only the type I have described in the upper formula is suitable for the application I intend to use it for. So I just want to be sure that this Chinese company which has their product described with the lower designation will be providing the correct product. (The product needs to be 25%-30% Lead Hydroxide)

Thanks for the response AWK, When you say there are only three ways to record the formula - would that mean that that lower formula is outside of these three ways and therefore not the same compound? My main question is whether or not this Chinese supplier who is claiming that their product 2CO3.2Pb.H2O2Pb is the same as what I require - which is 2PbCO3·Pb(OH)2

I think that this is the result of excessive trust in automatic translation.
2CO3.2Pb.H2O2Pb
Lead, bis[carbonato(2-)]dihydroxytri-

So the question remains:
IS 2PbCO3·Pb(OH)2 the exact same product as 2CO3.2Pb.H2O2Pb
If there is anyone who can just give a simple (YES) or (NO) answer that would be terrific.
Thanks in advance! :)

Formula refers to the same composition, period. Whether it is is the same product - nobody knows.
You won't get better answer, as there are way too many unknowns for a simple yes/no.
