The following lines I am quoting
1] Incorporate study cases into the Linear Program (LP) and utilize it as a basis for business case definition.
2] Update shift vectors in the LP with data from test runs and changes in operating modes.
3] Perform back casting to identify the impact of any variance in the level of operations on the profitability of the complex and assess profitable business opportunities using the LP.
I clearly cannot understand 2nd part & what does it mean perform back casting?
I have done equation oriented (using https://sourceforge.net/projects/lipside/) as well as spreadsheet oriented (aka Libre & Excel solvers) LP modelling

Would probably need to know what job title you're applying for. Sounds like a business analyst role, project management rather than scientific.
