Title: Synthesis of thiolated azo-derivatives
Post by: olabork on July 17, 2019, 07:15:46 AM
Hello,
I am looking for a method to synthesis thiolated azo derivatives (Attach example).
I would like to start from methyl red and change carboxylic group to thiolated azo derivatives.
How could I do that?

Greeting!

This molecule has a different substitution pattern that methyl red. Furthermore I would say that methyl red is a pretty bad starting point, very difficult to convert carboxylic acid to Ether
