Title: Emulsifying Vacuum oil - Hydrocarbon Solvent
Post by: flood on September 21, 2019, 09:25:36 PM
I have a problem.  I cleaned a vacuum pump out with Rainbow cable cleaner. The solvent label says "Hydrocarbon Solvent"
Ever since then, the vacuum pump is emulsifying water in the vacuum oil.. I can not separate the water out of the oil after use.

I have since refilled it 5 times and ran the pump for 20+ hours each time. Every time I drain it, the oil is still emulsified. I really need to get all the hydrocarbon solvent remains out, as the oil needs to be separated from water, filtered, and reused.

Is there anything I can do?
