First of all, hello everyone, I am a new chemistry student and in this forum, someone can summarize how ceramic materials are protected from degradation, I have not found info on the internet ???, I found about corrosion but nothing degradation, sorry for my English is not my mother tongue, thanks!.

I did GOOGLE on
ceramic degradation
and got several responses.

I expect no single answer. It must depend on the ceramic and the environment. Alumina, aluminium nitride and a rooftile wouldn't behave identically. Rain isn't the same as hydrofluoric acid.
So what ceramic, what conditions?
For alumina in air at room temperature, you won't find any protection method because no protection is needed.
