Hello,
I'm looking for some good organic chemistry drawing software for Mac OS X 10.4. I'm familiar with Isis/Draw but I believe you need the Mac OS 9 to run it. I'm also familiar with ChemDraw but I'm only looking for something for home use so am not willing to pay too much for it (<$200). Any suggestions? I've also seen xdrawchem on the internet. Has anyone had any experience with this program? Is it any good?
Cheers,

I use Isis on win xp. Links to various drawing programs can be found in our links section under Chemical Tools and Programs.

I've not used xchemdraw for the mac per se, but am currently experimenting with it for my drawing package under Suse Linux - seems reasonably OK so far, but a bit frustrating if you need to copy, paste change structures (unless it's just my inexperience with Linux :) ) - other packages I've had a look at from this angle are chemtool http://ruby.chemie.uni-freiburg.de/~martin/chemtool/, jchempaint http://almost.cubic.uni-koeln.de/cdk/jcp and bkchem http://bkchem.zirael.org/index.html .
Perhaps have a look at them - I'm not sure how closely Linuxes and Mac OS 10.4 are, though I believe fairly closely.

Mac OS 10.4 is based on BSD, BSD is not a Linux.
