Title: Metabolism for dummies textbook
Post by: Lamaos on January 18, 2020, 04:11:20 AM
Hello everyone,,
I'm a second year medical science undergrad who didn't pay enough attention in my first year lectures on metabolism. I'm wondering if anybody knows of a good, short textbook or section of textbook that succinctly explains the basics of human metabolic pathways such as glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, the citric acid cycle, fatty acid metabolism and the electron transport chain. The only textbooks I've been able to find so far drag all this material out over several hundred pages. I'm looking for a textbook that doesn't go into much detail, but covers the abovementioned ground in about fifty pages or so. A kind of "metabolism for dummies", really. Can anybody help me out????

I used to own a couple of books that might be what you want, but they have been lost to time.  One was PDQ Biochemistry, but I cannot recall the name of the other one ATM.
