Title: Windshield wiper fluid
Post by: help1985 on February 27, 2020, 01:15:30 PM
Hi, I put PEAK Premium Window Shield Wash Deicer with Rain-off in my car.  The wind was blowing and the liquid splashed all over onto an area that was hot.  The car smells now after driving it.  Is it harmful for me to breath in fumes?  How long will these fumes last? Thank you

I think it is no problem, but probably you bring your car to a garage and get professional engine cleaning.

According to SDS, the only ingredient that requires listing is methanol

When it hits a hot engine in air, there may be some oxidation to formaldehyde.  But it wont last.

There may be a small amount of other additives that might give you some odor - but the stuff is designed to evaporate off the windshield pretty rapidly!
