Title: alcohol smell

hi everyone,

ı have ethyl alcohol but this alcohol has very bad smell. dont same other ethyl alcholol. how can i decrease tihs smell. any idea? thanks.

If you think its expired or contaminated, I wouldn't use it in the lab. Don't know what you are using it for though.

I didn't imagine ethanol fouling or ageing. Quite the opposite, I have vodka because wine degrades quickly when a bottle is opened.

Could there possibly be some stinky compound added to ethanol sold as a fuel or a cleaner to prevent its use as a drink? Removing that would be difficult, and probably illegal.
