Title: Garlic oil extraction
Post by: rawgarlic on April 15, 2020, 10:01:01 AM
Hello there!

I want to extract and concentrate all of the substances present in garlic and make a kind of oil from it, anyone has some idea on how to do that?

I understand that there are some volatile compounds in garlic.

Thanks!

Is the present situation so desperate that we revert to garlic and holy water?

Sorry for that.

Not gonna use it for medicine pruposes, but rather for replicating the experiment myself.
Also Im new to chemestry and wanted to do something interesting and entertaining and at the same time useful, just for the sake of fun
Cheers mate

i would try extracting with some sort of solvent like ethanol or isopropanol first then filter and evaporate, should be left with some sort of extract

Its a bit complicated because some if the components are not stable over time. It is probably good to read this first;
