Title: Dopamines chemical structure and how this helps it be a neurotransmitter?

How does the chemical structure of dopamine lend itself to dopamine being a successful neurotransmitter?
eg. The fact it is a catechol, it particular bonding etc.

As you can se on several neurotransmitters they are phenetylamines, also many psykoactive drugs and medicines belong to this class.
