Title: Increase 63% sanitizer strength to 75-85%
Post by: Helpneeded2020 on May 07, 2020, 10:31:45 PM
Hi, got some isopropyl based hand sanitizer 63%. Would like to add 99% isopropyl to obtain final concentration of 75-85%. What is the formula or percentage of each? Thank you and stay clean.

No, sorry. Bad at chemistry, hence the post here. Thank you.

Here it is not allowed to give final solutions.
Write Left Side the wochentags what you have in the middle what you want to have , make the differences then you get the weight parts.

Thanks for the tips. I think I got it solved. Mixture calculator.

https://www.distilling-spirits.com/tools/calculations/mixing-alcohol/?alc_c_low=63&alc_c_high=99&alc_c_soll=81&alc_v_low=&alc_v_soll=1#result

50 ml of 63% + 50 ml of 99% = 100 ml of 81%

Not 100% sure, but the math looks about right

Use at your own risk. Too much lawsuits nowdays.

I am skeptical that you actually did the math to prove the calculator as correct.
