Title: Tea Tree Oil and Water Emulsifier
Post by: boopity on June 29, 2020, 12:37:03 PM
Hi there,

As a fun (and hopefully helpful) experiment, I want to create a simple 16oz spray (5% tea tree oil) of distilled water and tea tree oil to be applied to carpet.

I'm struggling to determine which hydrophilic emulsifier to use.
So far, I've narrowed my sights on hydrolysed lecithin, but am not sure if this is a good pick.

If hydrolysed lecithin is a good pick, I've still not been able to find any advice on the ratio of hydrolysed lecithin to oil to water, as the internet is saturated with a lot of contradictory and vague DIY lotion, soap, body spray, etc. makers.

Any direct help (or indirect help via direction to pertinent information) would be appreciated!
