Title: potassium ferrocyanide to potassium cyanide
Post by: beposan on July 03, 2020, 12:34:07 PM
hello. first, i have no idea about how chemistry works. second, sorry for grammar.
i need to make potassium cyanide and i found a equalition and it says heat till 650 celcius.
                     3K4[Fe(CN)6]−→Δ12KCN+Fe3C+5C+3N
what should i do. Just put this ''3K4[Fe(CN)6]'' to a pan an put it on to oven and heat it?

It you have no knowledge, then you shouldnt do anything. Cyanides are very poisson stuff. Maybe it would be your last experiment. The other question for what do you need it?
