Title: Need help making 3% concentration of synthetic vinegar
Post by: TAHP on July 14, 2020, 12:37:01 PM
Could anyone give me tips on how to make a 3% concentration of synthetic vinegar (contains just 4-5% acetic acid and water)? I will be varying the concentration of different acids in my experiment, but I don’t know how to make a 3% concentration of synthetic vinegar.

Calculations can easily be made for 4 or 5% acid. for an undefined concentration of 4-5%, you should determine concentration. You will do about 10% dilution error by making calculations for 4.5% acid - maybe that's enough?

how do you define "synthetic vinegar"?
what do you mean by "3% synthetic vinegar (contains just 4-5% acetic acid and water)?" ???
