Title: acetic acid production from methanol and CO in hysys
Post by: Ummi Kalsum on July 17, 2020, 10:36:22 PM
Hello, can anyone help me? I want to make a simulation in hysys to production of acetic acid from methanol and CO by Monsanto process, but I was very confused, I use Rhodium Catalyst (solid phase) and I can't find Rhodium when I add component list because its phase is solid because that I know Hysys is for liquid gas phase component while Rhodium Catalyst is solid ,or Is there no need to add Rhodium catalyst because it's just catalyst which it has not reaction, it just accelerates the reaction ?  can anyone help me to solve this problem? or so do u have a journal or a book or etc acetic acid production in hysys? I can't find a solution for my problem, please help me   :-[

The catalyst is solid. The CO and methanole will be gas. Die gas molecules touch the solid catalyst and react each other.
