Post by: milissa00 on September 22, 2006, 06:16:09 PM
what volume of mercury (d=13.6 g/ml) would have a mass of 2.8 lbs?

Convert 2.8lbs to grams.

You know for every 13.6 grams there is 1 ml of mercury.

Using simple dimensional analysis

And just search at google for lots of other examples, that was just some of the first ones.

X grams (grams in 2.8lbs) / 13.6 = ml of mercury.
