Title: question on beta+ decay and electron capture
Post by: tisu85 on September 23, 2006, 02:28:18 AM
hi guys, i have a homework problem which asks me to explain why there are NO beta + or EC decays in the decay of 238U to 206Pb . This chain only has beta- and alpha decay. Can anyone help me with this??

Most heavy nuclei want to keep a neutron:proton ratio of 1.5 or so. Keep that in mind when answering the question.
