Title: Anti-static solutions (ionisation etc)

Hi all,

I've got some static problems with powdery compounds (they go flying everywhere) and crucibles (which are giving false weights). Wondering if anybody's used any of the anti-static ionising bizzos, I saw one recommended on curly arrow (site) but it was certainly a more high-end one, has anyone had success with the cheaper options out there? Also happy just to hear some reviews.

Thanks for the reply. The MT U-type kit were just the thing I saw on curly arrow. Do they do they job alright in your experience? As long as they actually work I can justify the expense, but I'd hate to fork out $5000 AUD for it to fail me (can't imagine my supervisor would be too pleased either).

Hello, Hacktacular!
We've been using U-type kit's for 3 years. They work perfect - simple and sure. It's really more comfortable, than table ionizers with ventilators, because U-type don't produce wind.
Sometomes my colleague forget to turn off them for night, but they still well-working.

Thanks very much for that, it's sure to beat my effort of a bit of speaker wire wrapped around the gas lines to make a brush!
