BrOH react with alkene in the form of Brδ+ OHδ- where the electrophile is Br+.
whereas during oxidation of alcohol BrOH acts as Hδ+ OBrδ- form where OBr is the nucleophile and H+ is the electrophile..
why such different mode of reaction for the same molecule?????
