Solubility of compound A @25ºC = 0.24g / 100mL water
" " @100ºC: 6.35g / 100 mL water
What is the maximum possible yield of recrystallized pure compound A in water?
Would the max yield literally just be 6.35 - 0.24 = 6.11g? As a percentage, 6.11/6.35 = 96.22%.
If there were impurities in the substance, I think I would also need to be given the amount of starting materials (ex. 5g compound A, 1g impurity B), and the solubility of impurity B at 25 & 100ºC.
Is what I'm saying right? I'm trying to gauge whether I actually know what's going on before I submit my prelab assignment lol. Thanks for any help.

Is the question supposed to be what is the maximum yield if you cool from 100 to 25C? If so then you're right. You're also assuming the solution is saturated at 100C.
