Title: What do they do with the gravity?

Hi Folks,

In J.J. Thompson experiment for discovering the q/m ratio- He applied the magnetic field to let the particle shooting straight and used the equation F electric = F magnetic to get the q/m.

my question here is what do they do with the gravity force? was it too small to count?

Solved: “ The ratio of electrostatic to gravitational forces between two particles will be proportional to the product of their charge-to-mass ratios. It turns out that gravitational forces are negligible on the subatomic level, due to the extremely small masses of subatomic particles.” —Wikipedia
