Title: emission of nitrous oxide through nitrogen fertilizer

Hello,
I am from germany and currently in 13th grade. We have to write our first scientific paper, and mine is about the emissions of greenhouse gases through agriculture. As part of my research i calculate the greenhouse gas emissions of the farm of my family. But currently I am stuck because I need to calculate how much nitrogen from the nitrogen fertilizer we are using is ending up as nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. Does anyone know how i can calculate that? Last year we added 42607 kilograms (93932,356 lb) of nitrogen to our soil, of which 39098 kilograms (86196,335 lb) have been processed by plants, which leaves a surplus of 3509 kilograms ( 7736,021 lb) of nitrogen. Is there anyway I can calculate how much nitrous oxide is going to be released because of the fertilizer?
