What are the species in a solution of TiCl4 in HCl (not water, avoid hydrolysis reaction) ?
Ti-Cl are covalent bonds
I check but I only found the TiCl4 reaction with water....
???

Check the internet for hydrochlorotitanic acid H2TiCl6.

Check the internet for hydrochlorotitanic acid H2TiCl6.
Thanos.
So when I put HCl ---> H+ + Cl-.
Some Cl- ions will coordinate the tetrahedral TiCl4 in order to generate an octahedral complex TiCl62- and 2H+ as counter ions for the anionic complex
Is it correct?
THANKS
