Title: Metal displacement question
Post by: Perseus000 on October 09, 2020, 12:14:16 PM
Hi,
I just have a basic question about metal displacement.
If I dissolve copper with some iron in nitric acid to purify and separate them which makes Copper nitrate and iron nitrates.
Then I add silver Metal or any other metal to displace the copper, will the iron stay in solution or will both copper and iron be precipitated as metals?

With Silver nothing will displace. Its to noble. Add more Iron then copper can be obtained.
