Title: Resin needed for alcohol marker

Hello,
For a chemistry project we needed to make an azo dye.
Our application is an alcohol marker.
As far as I know, I only need 3 components: the dye, isopropyl alcohol and a resin.
Now I've no idea what resin.
Any ideas what resin/where I could buy it?

For school project try shellac.
