Title: Blending Methanol and gasoline
Post by: Ray Hall on October 25, 2020, 02:13:42 AM
Hello,
I have been mixing Toluene or Acetone and gasoline for many years to increase the octane of the fuel for my race car. 20% Toluene gives two points more octane. and 10% Acetone does the same.

I now need a higher octane. I have been told 10% Methanol with give five more points of octane. Sounds good but have read the Methanol and Gasoline can separate.  I am looking for ideas as to what I can add to make them mix/blend without problems.

Sorry if I have put this question in the wrong place.
Ray .
