Title: Oil and Keratin?
Post by: ajdjsgsjxhjx on November 03, 2020, 06:23:36 AM
Hi everyone, I’m a student doing a chemistry product about oil spills and there’s this part I have some difficulty with.

Recently people have been cleaning up oil spills with human hair/ dog fur. Since hair/ fur is made of keratin, is there anything special in its structure that forms bonds with the hydrocarbons in crude oil which allows oil to stick to it?

Truly appreciate any help given, thank you!
