Title: Are suprafacial + antarafacial bonds ever allowed pericyclic chemistry
Post by: Traumatic Acid on November 10, 2020, 11:55:58 PM
Hello chemists
Quick question: Are suprafacial + antarafacial bonds ever allowed in photo/thermal, pericyclic reactions? If so under what cicumstances and what would the bond even look like?
I know sigmatropic rearangements can be antarafacial but that's not quite the same thing.

Also if anyone has any tips, tricks or online sources to help me understand the sterochemistry of cycloadditions, electrocyclic reactions or sigmatropic rearangements I'd really appreciate it if you shared them.

Cheers.
