Title: How to bleach with hydrogen peroxide
Post by: zanarota on November 20, 2020, 01:47:24 AM
Hi, I'm a designer, not a chemist. I am developing a new material from recycled cardboard, impregnated with latex and finished with zinc chloride. I don't know how to bleach the paper with hydrogen peroxide. Can you help me? Remember, I am not a chemist, so it would be the easiest way. Thanks.

3% aqueous solution doesn't work.

Hydrogen peroxide has bleaching effect at temperatures above 60*C.
Well, it will bleech at all temperatures, but very slowly at lower temps.

You need bleach activators to use it at lower temps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleach_activator

Is it necessary buffering agent? Do I need to neutralize the paper after bleaching?
