Title: Chromebook
Post by: billnotgatez on January 24, 2021, 06:22:24 PM
Greeting all,

I am currently on the road  using a laptop to access the internet on a private WiFi Spectrum connection. But, I am not using a standard Apple or Windows machine. Instead, I am using a Chromebook Lenovo which uses the Google Chrome OS Version 87.0.4280.109 (Official Build) (32-bit) operating system. In general, all seems well when using the device on the forum. But, when accessing the links on the bottom of the forum page I get the following results.
Site Friends: ChemBuddy Chemistry Blog Chem Reddit Chem Dictionary Kai Dong
All these sites seem to work except
ChemBuddy
which gives me the error

I know that I can probably fool with the certificate options to make it work but I wonder if there is something else that I can check to fix the issue. I am on the road so I do not have access to other equipment for testing. If anyone else is getting the message let us know,

Thanks
Bill

Good catch, link is to the http version of the page.

This whole http/https thing is actually quite nonsensical these days. While on some sites https is definitely necessary, I don't see how pH lectures are more valid when hosted on https server. Yet to avoid stupid warnings I need to pay for https.

Nah, it is worse than that. Sigh.

Yes, turned out there were problems with the certificate/server configuration.
