Title: Copper sulfate crystals after 6 months
Post by: DanVoznak on January 30, 2021, 10:51:48 AM
Hello everyone!

I would like to share with you the result of my 179 days long experiment. I made a copper sulfate crystal, which is over 10 cm long. Total 1.5 kg of copper sulfate was used.

This experiment is really easy and you can create it at home - feel free to check my tutorial:

You will need copper sulfate, hot water, and mainly lots of time...

In case you have any question about the process, feel free to contact me!

very nice. Soon it will be big enough for single crystal XRD

I did it years ago with potassium chromium sulfate. KCr(SO4)2 x 12H2O
I didn't use a nylon, I keep it growing in a beaker, exchange the solution every 12 hour.
