Title: Would there be any difference adding HCl instead of HNO3 on Ag & Pb carbonates?
Post by: RaelAerosolKid on March 14, 2021, 07:56:47 PM
When adding HCl or HNO3 in pH = 4.00 to these carbonates, would the precipitation (which is what I want) be any different depending on the acid?

Sorry if this is a vague question

What is the behaviour of AgCl or AgNO3. The same for the lead salts.

Definitely. Nitrates tend to be soluble in water, but a lot of other salts of silver and lead are actually insoluble.
