Title: Reactions at -78C on scale
Post by: AlphaScent on March 27, 2021, 11:23:07 PM
So I have a question for the process chemists out there in industry...

If possible are reactions run at -78C avoided in possible when working in the kilo lab in 50 to 200 L reactors?

I assume so because doing larger reactions than that makes the chemistry hard to implement.

Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this.

Cheers!

I think you try to avoid this and probably many reaction run at -78 can be performed at -25 and this temperature can easily be accomplished with ordinary refrigiration.
