Title: What would be the IUPAC name for this? look at both attachments.
Post by: lyla2003 on April 04, 2021, 05:08:24 AM
I know that this compound would be an ester and i also figured out the IUPAC name of the carboxylic acid it would form from which is 3-Chloropenta-2,4-dienoic acid. I know that these compounds end with the secondary suffix "-oate" but i can't understand how i can name the part of the molecule to the right of the Oxygen atom.
Will it be something like "secbutenyl"?
If not how should this be named?
