What is the net yield of ATP produced by the anaerobic fermentation of one molecule of galactose to two molecules of lactate in myocytes (A) 2 (B) 3 (C) 4 (D) 6 (E) None of the answers is correct
The answer is A.
I am confused by the question itself because one molecule of galactose goes into glycolysis after a couple steps to form one molecule of glucose, how can it generate two molecules of lactate, instead of just one?
Thank you.

By counting carbons it should yield two.

Yes, Right! Thank you so much.
