Title: Hydration enthalpy
Post by: xoston37 on May 30, 2021, 12:09:12 PM
Why the anions NO3– and CO32– have practically the same radius (165 pm)
but the former has the lower hydration enthalpy (∆Hh = –295 and –1120 kJ mol-1, respectively)?

What kind of interactions is behind the hydration enthalpy? How do they differ for the two listed anions?
