Title: Oxidation of an Alcohol
Post by: Jetsu on June 28, 2021, 11:40:24 AM
I have this school problem that I have trouble solving:
An alcohol is completley oxidized and 132u of CO2 and 72u of H2O are created.
What is the alcohol?
I figured out that 132u = 11CO2 and 72u = 4H2O

Is "u" a unit of mass.  I believe that I see an inconsistency in what you have done.  Can you write out the calculations by which you converted 132u into 11CO2 and 72u into 4 H2O?
