Title: 50% KOH Solution injection
Post by: stech_60 on September 07, 2021, 12:26:14 PM
I am currently reviewing a prospective process for activation of carbon using KOH.  Are there significant risk factors if KOH 50% solution were to be generated into steam and injected into the carbon chamber during pyrolosis? The current method is utilizing a retort for carbonization.  The KOH steam would be injected into the chamber and subsequently released into the burn chamber.  The assumption would be to achieve oxidation simultaneously during carbonization with KOH as an activating agent.
