Title: Concentration and Mass %
Post by: yoyohs on September 12, 2021, 11:34:13 AM
What is the concentration (in mol/L) of a 23.0 mass % aqueous solution of Br2 that has a density of 1.325 g/mL?

I tried dividing the mass % by the molar mass of Br2 to get the number of moles. Then I used 23 as the mass to calculate volume from the density formula. I used this volume in the concentration formula to find concentration. The answer I got is wrong, so I want to know where I went wrong and how I can fix this.

1. Calculate mass of 1 liter of the solution.
2. Calculate mass of Br2 in 1 liter of the solution.
3. Convert mass to quantity (number of moles).
