Title: Interesting research questions regarding Nitrate (NO3) in surface water

I have to research the Nitrate concentrations in different surface waters (lake near farm, river in city, river in rural are etc.) and have to come up with interesting questions regarding how Nitrate affects the water.

What could be interesting to research?
